MANHANDLING
I was on the opposite pavement eating a delicious salad, talking with some friends and enjoying all things Parisian, when all this started going on in front of my eyes. I lifted my camera. They saw me doing this. Our eyes met. There was much gesticuation, the meaning unclear to either of us, and then they carried on the manhandling. As if to say, 'See if we care if you take a picture,' — but somehow also giving the impression that they did.
