Paris is becoming a friend of mine.
Maybe a strange thing to say about a city, but I believe most of you will understand why I am saying this. It's a city alive to its past as well as its future; a place unafraid of itself. For example, the public spaces are just that; used by the public whether it's streets being cleared for roller bladers or public concerts. It's a place unabashed, a polite and civil residence for the majority of its inhabitants, a city of strange obsessions and delights and I am fortunate a place where several of my dearest friends live.
You'll have to excuse his work in progress: I have a little collection of images that I'm gathering. Nothing typical I hope. A series of odd views that together (when I've finished posting them) form a great whole. I'm also scribbling various notes and pieces of writing to go with them. A sort of visual guidebook to everything you won't see in a Paris tourist brochure.
